CEREMONY & TALK BY GRANDMOTHER CAROLE @ THE RITZ — 6:00 - 7:00 PM

Grandmother Carole Bubar-Blodgett, the creator of Water is Life Walk, will share a ceremony for honoring our water and will offer her powerful vision for how we can all become Water Protectors. She’ll share insights into the meaning of Standing Rock for our movement and wisdom from the Original Instructions, crucial Native American knowledge for how we can come back into alignment with nature and fulfill our true potential as humans.

MOVIE SCREENING: THE DEVIL WE KNOW @ THE RITZ — 7:00 - 8:30 PM

"A blood-boiling eco-doc whose story is far from over" — Hollywood Reporter
"A riveting tale of long-term irresponsibility and injustice" — Variety

This movie is about the start of citizen action against the manufacturers of the same toxic PFAS chemicals we have in our water here in Newburgh!

The compelling story of citizens in West Virginia who take on a powerful corporation after they discover it has knowingly been dumping a toxic chemical—now found in the blood of 99.7 percent of Americans—into the local drinking water supply.

"The Devil We Know kept the Sundance premiere audience fully riveted its duration; by two-thirds of the way through, folks around me were spontaneously applauding and talking back to the screen, which for me is a good sign that a film has struck a chord." - Movie City News

The film will be followed by audience processing and talk-back after the screening.

Film Sponsored by Earthjustice, with special thanks to Alejandro Davila and Gretchem Aikens.
