Newburgh Clean Water Project: Water Salon: We Deserve Clean Water

NCWP Water Salon #1 - JOIN US Saturday, July 27th FOR A FREE FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT FROM 2PM - 9PM @ THE RITZ!

The Newburgh Clean Water Project (NCWP) is hosting an afternoon and evening of multimedia events at the historic Ritz Theater to bring together a community of residents and allies to advocate for clean water while having fun! We're on a mission to secure:

1. A long-term clean drinking water source. Our current clean water sources are temporary: Catskill Aqueduct & Brown's Pond…

2. Health resources for city residents and workers who were exposed to PFAS contaminants between the 1990s and May of 2016, and…

3. Watershed protection and restoration, now and for future generations!
Join us! Together, let's hold our leaders accountable, share resources, and create solutions that keep our community safe, healthy and growing.

CLEAN WATER = OUR HUMAN RIGHT.

The Ritz is located at 107 Broadway in Newburgh, NY. Free parking is available on Broadway or in the municipal parking lot located at 116 Washington St, just behind The Ritz. Public transit drops off nearby at the corner of Liberty & Broadway.

MOVIE SCREENING: THE DEVIL WE KNOW @ THE RITZ — 7:00 - 8:30 PM

"A blood-boiling eco-doc whose story is far from over" — Hollywood Reporter
"A riveting tale of long-term irresponsibility and injustice" — Variety

This movie is about the start of citizen action against the manufacturers of the same toxic PFAS chemicals we have in our water here in Newburgh!

The compelling story of citizens in West Virginia who take on a powerful corporation after they discover it has knowingly been dumping a toxic chemical—now found in the blood of 99.7 percent of Americans—into the local drinking water supply.

"The Devil We Know kept the Sundance premiere audience fully riveted its duration; by two-thirds of the way through, folks around me were spontaneously applauding and talking back to the screen, which for me is a good sign that a film has struck a chord." - Movie City News

The film will be followed by audience processing and talk-back after the screening.

Film Sponsored by Earthjustice, with special thanks to Alejandro Davila and Gretchem Aikens.
